ASEAN Sunan Gunung Djati Student Camp 2025

Term of Reference & Comprehensive Information

Background

The ASEAN region today is experiencing unprecedented uncertainty due to intensifying global challenges such as geopolitical instability, disrupted supply chains, climate-related economic shocks, & rapid digital transformation. These disruptions disproportionately affect emerging economies, exposing vulnerabilities in informal employment, food security, MSME resilience, the halal industry, & access to technology.

Against this backdrop, the ASEAN Sunan Gunung Djati Student Camp (ASSC) 2025 is designed as a dynamic & transformative platform that empowers students from faculties of Islamic economics, finance, management, & business to engage in deeper scholarly inquiry & intercultural exchange.

Linked to the Iqtishaduna Conference 2025, ASSC 2025 seeks to nurture a generation of ASEAN scholars & practitioners capable of translating Islamic economic & managerial values into actionable strategies for regional resilience & prosperity.

Program Objectives

To foster scholarly leadership & regional awareness among ASEAN youth through discussions on economic resilience, sustainable development, & Islamic economic perspectives.

To strengthen academic collaboration & cultural exchange by connecting students from various institutions & ASEAN member states.

To develop practical & research-based responses to real-world challenges faced by local communities & MSMEs through student-led research & community empowerment activities.

To bridge theory & practice by combining academic Session, applied research (mini-fieldwork), & cultural immersion into an integrated learning experience.

To serve as a preparatory forum for student delegates participating in Iqtishaduna Conference 2025, enabling alignment of student contributions with the larger academic & policy agenda of the event.

Academic Session & Field Research

Description:

Student presentations & discussions on ASEAN economic resilience, Islamic finance, digital economy, sustainability and mini-field research with MSMEs, Islamic cooperatives, halal industry; short community projects

Expected Output:

Fieldwork reports, Policy briefs & thematic papers

Community and Social Service

Description:

Visit to Panti dan Pesantren Tuna Netra as part of an inclusive service-learning experience. Participants engage with visually impaired students through mentoring, reading sessions, and mini workshops on empowerment and digital literacy.

Social Services, inclusivity mindset, and empathy-driven leadership

Cultural & Heritage Session

Description:

Visits to Komunitas Hong Dago/ Saung Angklung Udjo/ Kampung Cirendeu; cultural exhibition & gala dinner.

Expected Output:

Strengthened intercultural competence

Youth Leadership Seminar

Description:

Historical visit and international youth seminar at the Asia-Africa Conference Museum. Participants will explore the Bandung Spirit through a heritage walk, engage in dialogue on youth diplomacy, and formulate an ASEAN Youth Declaration on collaboration and peace.

Description:

Student recommendations presented in panel & parallel Session.
